Kronen Zeitung OÖ
Robert Wilson, Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan created from Georg Büchner's drama fragment "Woyzeck" is a revue-like version with modern ballads. To see a successful premiere in Chamber play in the Linz! At the start of the season
Linz State Theatre is now ranked the Austrian premiere. (...) A first public success! Director Ingo Shine presented an entertaining, but multi-layered drama on the stage. He developed character studies that flirt with an unreal perception (Woyzeck). The captain, played brilliantly by Thomas Bammer harassed, Woyzeck from a rolling cart. Klaus Keller is a wonderful Woyzeck.

Yes, and the music: Tom Waits says in small songs by great catastrophes of the lost on the margins of society. The band played accordion Nebosja Krulanovic this sheet music shrill, weird, beautiful - and sometimes loud. Whether rocking or sentimental, the six men in all measures at home and in any rhythm at home: just great! The play team sings and interprets this ballad-like songs, it's a true joy. Even if the English lyrics are not easy to understand, they do not necessarily reflect moods. Tom Waits himself said: "I do not even mean what some songs." Well ... The stage of Brandt Stefan Mayr is a large climbing frame, which allows input and vistas and through the use of the revolving stage also allows for quick change of location. Then the horseman draped Woyzeck-head projection for the madness. Klaus Kohler impressed as Woyzeck with theatrical intensity - and great condition. New People's Journal
exceptional (...) tender insinuating music, which is marked by melancholy and aggression, short-tempered, music that moves in a swirl of feelings, Bar-Jazz, blues, tunes such as popular songs, ballads. empathy has Nebojsa Krulanovic attempt it with the accompaniment of his troupe. As acting substation of Woyzeck by Klaus Kohler is fascinating. Marie, who then succumbs to the advances of the drum major (Georg Bonn) and thus Woyzek murderous hurts is, in its range of naive and cunning at Barbara Novotny just right.
The default The furious game of wacky employer Woyzecks by Bammer and Zeidler that alternates between madness and slapstick, provides a merciless interpretation of the insanity which is destroying Woyzeck. Overall, a, (...), stimulating production.
